Tegan Enjoys Life Out in the Open!

Tegan now spends 90% of her day in the world!  She purrs all the time and is starting to approach me when she wants to be pet.  She plays with toys and with the other cats, and loves to eat treats from my hands!

Willow is still pretty, still waiting!

A beautiful girl, ready for a home!

Tegan Makes Her Film Début!

It's not Oscar worthy, but you can see she is gaining confidence!

Tegan, aka Spooky, comes out from under the couch!

Tegan has been camping out under the sofa for nearly three weeks now.  Yesterday and today, she's finally been out and about!  She will chase treats I throw for her (as long as they are far enough away from the couch that she can't just grab them with her paws from underneath...) and she will come eat out of my hand.  She lets me pet her, and if there is food, she purrs so loud you can hear her throughout the apartment.  She seems totally at ease with her feline companions, it's people she's not so sure of.  Every time she comes out, I earn her trust.  It will just take time!  I'm a very patient foster mama.

Kingsley & Kimono Go Home Together!

The Brothers K
Great news this week!  Kingsley and Kimono have been adopted by one of my students and his family.  I am just totally thrilled that they got to go together, because they are the best of friends.

The Queen in her bed
Willow still waits patiently, but i think she is happy to be without the two kittens, who often got in her way.

There's also a new addition to what my husband now calls "The Pet Shop." Introducing, Tegan!  Too scared for the moment to pop out for her portrait, but we'll get her confidence up to "Willow Level" in no time.  Tegan was living outside in Pierrefonds and was kindly rescued by a friend of a friend.

Please disregard the dust under my bed.

On an unrelated note, here's Abba! She may be a bit chubby, but she has impeccable taste in shoes.

Kimono & Kingsley are adapting well!

*le français suit*

Kingsley and Kimono have proved me wrong: I was sure they would be impossible to socialize because they seemed SO afraid when I first saw them in their cage last week.

What a surprise when they slept in our bed with us on the very first night!  They are still nervous at times, but they have no fear of our other cats.  I woke up one night to find Kingsley asleep on my chest.  Kimono is a bit braver than his brother, but they both let me pick them up for cuddles, with lots of purring!

Kimono is particularly fond of Pandora, I think he wants her to be his Mommy, because I caught him trying to nurse on her...  she was not so impressed.

Tomorrow they go to Adoption Day at Mondou in Anjou!

I think he's trying to nurse....

Willow is still waiting, and now she's been spayed!

Who will take me home??

Dexter & Hermione find their forever homes, now Kingsley and Kimono are waiting!

Hermione and Dexter were adopted today!  I will really miss him, here's a great photo of Dex and a nice group shot for posterity.

With Hermione and Dexter leaving room for more kittens, we now have Kingsley Shacklebolt (formerly called "Roi Soleil," but I have to keep my Harry Potter theme going, and his brother Kimono.  They have the funniest ears I have ever seen, because they are permanently folded!  They are 2-3 months old and their mother was a feral cat, so they're a bit wild themselves.  However, both have let me snuggle them a little bit so far.

Kingsley, the orange tabby (and Auror entrusted to protect Harry Potter by posing as the assistant to the Muggle Prime Minister- but I digress)  is only slightly less terrified than his brother Kimono, who is all black.

Both beautiful boys are looking for their forever homes!!

Spread the word!

Dexter & Hermione need homes too!

Dexter & Hermione are brother and sister, recently abandoned at a volunteer's home. They are just precious! Dexter is seen here on the left, he's got cute little tufts in his ears and gorgeous dark markings around his eyes. Hermione, on the right, loves to eat! The kittens are healthy and would love to be adopted together. They get along very well with the other cats.

Please contact me if you are interested in adopting!

New photo of Willowby

Yes, I have decided to call her Willowby! She slept in our bed all snuggled up for her first night. She's still getting a feel for the place, but has stopped hissing at her new roommates. In fact, she and Abba shared the bed today for an afternoon nap.

Presenting... .Willow!

(le texte en français suit)

This is Willow, a beautiful 1.5 year old female cat. She is gray with neat beige markings and a funny short-ish tail. She had a litter of kittens at her previous foster home. She is my first foster cat, and I am hoping to find her a permanent home! She is healthy and beautiful!

The adoption process goes through the Animal Rescue Network, where the adoption fee of $130 includes vaccination, sterilization and any assistance you need with your new animal. The money goes to help continue the shelter’s work. If this seems like a lot of money, consider that the cat I got for “free”, as she was found as a stray, ended up costing me $300, so that she could be sterilized, vaccinated, and treated for ear mites!

Here is her page at the Animal Rescue Network.

Please contact me @ lindsay_gallimore@sympatico.ca if you are interesting in becoming her forever family!
